SOP: Update Website Content, Menu Items, and Announcements in the Dashboard
Objective
This SOP explains how to update website content, menu items, and announcement images from the dashboard or website editor. It also covers how to schedule announcements so changes can roll over automatically at the end of the month.
Key Steps
1. Open the Website Editor to Make Content Changes 0:07
-
From the dashboard, click Website.
-
Select the specific area you want to update.
-
Make the needed edits, such as:
-
Uploading a new image
-
Changing text
-
Updating other website content
-
-
Save or confirm your changes after editing.
2. Update Menu Items from the Content Area 0:19
-
In the Template Builder, go to Content.
-
Click Menu.
-
Review the menu items currently displayed.
-
Edit the menu items as needed so the menu reflects the correct information.
3. Edit and Schedule Announcements 0:31
-
Go to Announcements.
-
Update announcement images as needed.
-
Set announcements to change automatically at the end of the month.
-
Confirm the schedule so the next announcement is ready without manual follow-up.
4. Access Website and Announcement Tools from the Dashboard 0:43
-
From the dashboard, use the available shortcuts for Website and Announcements.
-
If you need to edit the menu, open either Website or Announcements first.
-
Then navigate to Content to reach the Menu option.
-
Use this path when the menu option is not directly visible on the dashboard.
Cautionary Notes
-
Do not forget to save changes after editing website content, menu items, or announcements.
-
Verify scheduled announcements before the end of the month to ensure the next image or message appears correctly.
-
Use the correct navigation path: the menu option may only be available after entering Website or Announcements and then going to Content.
-
Check all edits for accuracy before publishing, especially text, images, and dates.
Tips for Efficiency
-
Schedule announcement changes in advance to reduce monthly manual updates.
-
Keep images and text prepared before opening the editor to speed up the update process.
-
Use the dashboard shortcuts for faster access to Website and Announcements.
-
Make menu updates at the same time as website or announcement changes to keep content consistent.
Review flags before publication
- Confirm the exact save and publish steps for website text, images, menu items, and announcements. The Loom-generated wording is preserved above; these steps still need verification.
- Confirm announcement scheduling controls, the applicable time zone, and exact month-end start/end behavior before treating automatic rollover as verified.
- Review the screenshot-to-step alignment. Loom’s 0:19 screenshot shows the website text editor, 0:31 shows Menu Manager, and 0:43 shows announcement slots. The original generated screenshots are retained.
- The screenshots show an example business and its dashboard activity counts. Review for redaction or replacement before public publication.
